The people who practice palm reading are known as a palmist, hand reader, palm readers. Palmistry is one of the methods to foretell the use of planets in our solar system.

Origin of Palmistry

Palmistry has its origin in India. It was researched by the sages of India. Palmistry is a subject developed over 1000 years old. The sages were analysed and documented, hands of a large population, for an elongated period of time.

Gipsies in the western world used a thumb to predict the future. Do not associate gipsy with magic alone. They considered thumb shape size structure and other attributes to arrive at a conclusion. A thumb of a person can tell a lot about the physical, mental, and emotional strength of a person. It can tell about the strength of character. Nadi shastras a branch of astrology located in South India specifically uses the thumb impression to predict the future.

Similarly Palmistry and Astrology

Palmistry and astrology consist of mainly planets. The meaning of the planets is the same in both fields. The difference is astrology, which deals with making a birth chart and doing mathematical calculations. While palmistry is all about just reading one’s palm.

Astrology is more about mathematical calculations permutations and combinations of various planets.

A common man associates palmistry with luck. Palm reading is more than just luck. Palmistry is also known by another name i.e. Chiromancy. This name comes from a famous modern-day palmist. Chiro after studying under Indian Guru’s went back to Europe, practised and published books on palmistry.

Palmistry originated in India but you can find good palmistry authors all over the world. Modern palmistry is better written by foreign authors.

Palmistry is a subjective science therefore everything is debatable and can be questioned. Palmistry talks about humans’ nature and mankind. Human civilisation is evolving, therefore palm reading is changing gradually.

People expect palmistry to give absolute answers and solutions. You will get an absolute answer if mankind had stagnated. There is no way we can quantify how much money a person may earn. For example, we can’t say if a person will make 1 million, 100 million or 100 billion.

Palmist all over the world interprets lines in different way. Palm readings are at variance and contradictory in nature many times. Due to variations in palmistry, it is doubted many times by scholars of science. Life is full of possibilities, which is why palmistry is not complete.

Palmistry as a form of divination

Some people think of palmistry as a form of divination. Divine means to be inspired by god or god himself. It is wrong to associate palmist to be divine. Palmist is in no way divine and can not change your future. Many clients want a solution to one’s problems and an end to sorrow.

Islam condemns Palmistry

It is said by people that Islam condemns palmistry. The reason is not known why it is forbidden. Probably they have given importance to hard work. But if you look at other religions too they have not in any way said karma and hard work is not important. Palmist too bases their reading by looking at capabilities and hard work and not fate. Palmistry is not based on the belief that all events in our lives are predestined and can not be changed.

Scientist Intelligentsia doubt palmistry and astrology

Scientist doubts palmistry due to a lack of evidence. People who doubt may never have read a single page on palmistry but still doubt it. The so-called intelligentsia bases their opinion on palmistry-bashing articles.

The purpose is to simplify palmistry and to reveal the so-called secrets behind a palm reading. Every Palmist has a different pattern of palm reading analysis. I will urge people to have realistic expectations from a palmist.

Palmist are not God

The work of palmists is to read a hand that does not make them to be God. Do not expect palmistry to have every answer to your questions. Expect shades of grey answers.

A new word is coined by a few modern palmists and that is the palmistry chart. What is a palmistry chart? The Palmistry chart is nothing but images of palm reading. So please do not be confused with the word chart.

Few astrologers mix astrology with palmistry

• Few astrologers may be good in astrology but do not know palmistry
• the astrologer calculates and applies astrology and not palmistry to predict and foretell his client’s future.

Palmist knowing just palmistry

Very few palmists deal exclusively in palmistry. Most astrologers mix astrology with palmistry. Few numerologist mix numerology with palmistry. My belief is that a person can be an expert in just one subject not multiple. An astrologer can never be a good palmist. You as a client will not come to know when the astrologer is applying astrology for a palm reading.

Are palmist psychic ?

A psychic can be a palmist but a palmist need not be a psychic. We normally use the word psychic for palmists and astrologers as well. The meaning of a psychic is a person claiming to have supernatural power, a seer, or prophet.

Palmistry and rare lines

Palmistry is not about just rare lines. Most people think there is some strange sign like an elephant, m sign, w sign, Swastik, lotus, or wheel that brings success.

When we read hands we must look at every aspect of the palm to arrive at the conclusion. Analyzing one sign or one line in isolation will be the wrong method to read a palm.
